Project Overview
A Change of Pace, a non-profit Event Management and Run Production company reached out for a new t-shirt, medal and digital graphic design for their event, The Lucky Run. The color scheme requested was green and the client requested the design to indicate something lucky while remaining fun and inviting. The only symbol requested to be avoided was a shamrock.
Contributions
Developed a number of concepts for the design, communicated those concepts with the client, then finalized the design and sent the order to be printed.

ALEC started the process by brainstorming a number of symbols and concepts that conveyed a sense of luck. Beside the off-limits four leaf clover a few items came to mind; horseshoes, garden gnomes, a rabbits tail, ladybugs. He ended up going with a casino themed font after driving by a local cardroom and the Lucky Run theme came soon after.

The dice characters were illustrated with retro characters as a heavy influence. The jubilant retro characters and the typography choice worked well together to create the requested fun, inviting feeling that the race conveys. The dice running with their faces making up the combined lucky number seven sides of the dice was purposeful to further the feeling of luck.

Combining the elements and adding a few additional touches (race distance poker chips and the running path) the final design is shown stand alone above and below on a white t-shirt. The front of the t-shirt features the Lucky Run Logotype across the right chest with the full logo set in the center of the upper backside of the shirt. The five panel hat is a khaki color with the green Lucky Run Logotype across the front.
